Whew! What a Festival!

The Festival was a success! We expected around 1500 people to come to the shows, but ended up with 2000 people! Artists were amazing- Big Big Thank You for them!

Saturday , foggy in the morning setup

This morning we started like this... I am not going to tell you what the hell is going on. Come here and see for yourself!! Morning setup is now done.

half an hour for the first show, and only 15 min before the doors will open to our happy and enthusiastic audience. Matias just came to see me at the lighting "tower" and send greetings to everybody before getting ready for his show.

And this 1 1/2 hours ago.

Festival stage is ready...

Today was a set-building-day in Tullikamari. It's starting to look like real circus in there. Round manege and rising seats are ready for the first rehersals in the morning. The first show starts at 18.00.

While the others were busy building I was setting up a festival-office in the backstage. And had to learn how to use Mac-computer..hahaa. It was, well, hmm, time consuming thing.

This evening Koulutuskeskus Salpaus performed their show for the circus-kids in Sorin Sirkus and I went to see it also. The show was good! My favorites were the hola-hoop-girl and another girl who did a tightwire number with tango music. Wow!

Tomorrow our day starts at 8 with a meeting and then we run the day. Klubi will have a new look with some circuslights and so on. So I guess I should get some shut-eye soon...

Festival is coming...next week!!!

Hard to believe it, but here we are again. One week before the Circus Ruska Festival. For the fifth time! Where did the years go...

We had our press this week and it went okay: couple of newspapers and radios showed up! And one journalist remembered Petteri's words from two years ago, something about Tampere becoming the circuscapital of Finland. She was asking when exactlty it's going to take place and Petteri pushed the timelimit 'til 2013, was it? ;)

Anyway. Last year some shows were sold out. So book your tickets now! It is so easy: just send an e-mail to info@circusruska.com.

What is special about this year. Hmm. That there will be more shows than last year, the guys are going to build a (round) manege in Tullikamari, there will be two circusclubs (on Friday an art-party and on Saturday party-party). And of course, we have a lovely and a little bit crazy lady hosting the festival. Also some surprises coming... You'll see, you'll see..

I was trying to put here some still photos (for a change), but the "computer says no". Sorry. I have to negotiate with this pc of mine...
